The Quiznos- Paypal Incident

First off, before I start off about the whole Quiznos- Paypal incident, let me start by introducing myself. My name is.... anonymous, I am an owner of Bertlins- the online shopping website. Bertlins is a relatively new site, but I must say that it is coming along. I prefer to stay anonymous for the time being because of the nature of my blog may seem offensive (its really not that serious... I'm exaggerating a bit). Other than that, I would love to hear from all of you out there. I don't care what your area of expertise is, as long as you can contribute something to the blog. As for myself, aside from being 1/2 of the Bertlins team, I have a full time job. It is very rough running a business and having to commute for 1 1/2 hours every morning and afternoon, but I love my day job. Anyway, I will save the post about balancing "regular life" with business for another day.

So much for the introduction, let me get on about the Quiznos- Paypal incident. So my business partner and I went to our local Quiznos yesterday evening. We walked in and were greeted by the two employees. As usual they asked my business partner how the business was going and he started talking about how things are going good, despite the feared "R" word (recession). I wasn't particularly paying any mind to the conversation until one of the employees mentioned that he had an Ebay store where he sells. At this point I proceeded to join the conversation since in the past I have been an Ebay buyer (I had a sick addiction in college when I discovered Ebay for the first time). When I was also thinking about starting the business I considered selling on Ebay. However, after I made my first few sales I was....... disgusted by the amount of money I had to pay in Ebay fees. I mean, let's face it, paying $2.00 to list an item that's worth .99cents is ridiculous. Back to the story, so the employee at Quiznos started ranting and raving about the Ebay fees and how ridiculous it is to sell on there. After he rants for about 5 minutes straight (while he's supposed be making my sandwiches), he starts a rant about Paypal.
He starts saying that they are part of the whole Ebay takeover since Ebay bought them and how they are part of the reason why Ebay is able to make all this money and that they take advantage of sellers by charging them all these fees. So my partner and I were somewhat interested in his hatred for Paypal because we use Paypal on our website and have used it to make our own personal purchases from numerous sites in the past and had not experienced any major problems. He presented a unique situation where he said he sold an item to a person, shipped it out and then the person, wrote Paypal to file a claim that the item never arrived. Therefore, he had to reimburse the customer, and pay some type of fine to Paypal because of the dispute. He said that it has happened to him numerous times before and that Paypal never takes the sellers side. He called Paypal "ruthless." He also said there is a whole website dedicated to people who hate Paypal at www.paypalsucks.com. I spent a couple of hours checking out the site for myself and it is indeed interesting to see the amount of hatred people out there have for Paypal. Like I said before, I have no ill will towards Paypal, so please do not think that I am promoting the 'Paypal sucks' website, I am simply stating whats out there.
All in all, the Quiznos employee ranted for about 10 minutes about his issues (I think he just needed someone to talk to) before he finished making my sandwiches. I just wanted to pose a couple of questions to you readers out there:

1. What has your experience (positive/ negative) been with Paypal or any other merchant service provider?
2. What do you think about www.Paypalsucks.com?

I look forward to hearing from all of you.
